The legend that surrounds Rose Hall and its infamous owner, Annee Palmer, is one that has fascinated generations of locals and visitors alike since its construction in 1770. Annee was called the “White Witch” because she bedazzled then did away with the three husbands and countless slave lovers.

Since opening, Greenwood has received numerous awards including the Musgrave medal for excellence in heritage preservation, the National Association of Returning Residents plaque and the Berger Paints Heritage in Architecture award. Additionally, Greenwood Great House is a national monument.
The historic integrity of the property has been maintained by Bob and Ann Betton since 1976 when they first opened the museum to the public.
